DETAILS:

In July 2009, the body of Richard Robinson was found in the trunk of his car in the City of Melissa, in Collin County. The cause of death was undetermined at the time, but circumstances and a forensic examination determined that Robinson was the victim of a homicide. Robinson was last seen at a local nightclub. Despite an intensive investigation by local law enforcement and the Texas Rangers, the case went inactive.

Update: In January 2017, the case was re-opened by the Texas Rangers. Evidence was uncovered that implicated three suspects murdered Robinson during a robbery at the suspect's residence. In May 2018, Mitchell Jones and two other persons were indicted and arrested for Capital Murder. The United States Marshals Service assisted in locating and arresting the suspects. A trial date is pending.

Persons arrested for a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty.
