DETAILS:

On Monday, 02/23/1953, 17 year old Raul (Pete) Arevalo, while working as a gas station attendant at Lyles Buick Company in Sonora, left with two men who stated they ran out of gas east of Sonora in the Company's truck. After he did not return to the station in a timely manner, authorities were notified. The Company vehicle was located 7.7 miles west of Sonora. On Tuesday, Arevelo's wallet was found 12 miles west of Sonora and later other documents belonging to him were found 20 miles west of Sonora. On Sunday, 03/01/1953 Arevelo's body was found 1.4 miles east of Sonora by persons on a Sunday Drive. Arevalo's death was ruled a murder and Officials dubbed it one of the most vicious murders in the area at the time. The murder of Arevalo remains unsolved and the Texas Rangers are asking for your help with providing any information regarding this case.
