DETAILS:

On 07/11//1986, 83-year-old Dovie Dykes was found deceased in her residence in San Angelo. An autopsy revealed she had been sexually assaulted and determined she died of cardiac arrhythmia during the attack. The case was investigated but stalled. Ultimately San Angelo PD detectives and the Texas Rangers reinvestigated this case. In 2017 law enforcement identified the suspect as Adolph Gonzales.

Further investigation and DNA testing lead to the March 04, 2019, arrest of Gonzales in Lewisville, Texas. The trial date is pending.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until convicted.
