DETAILS:

Christa Lea Williams, a 16 year old female, whose family lived in San Antonio, was last seen on 04-20-1977, at her place of work in Pearsall. On 04-23-1977, her nude body was discovered along side of FM 2779, approximately 8 miles north of Pearsall. An autopsy determined Christa died due to numerous gunshot wounds from a small caliber firearm. A suspect has been developed, however, further information is needed to further the case.

In 2009, the suspect in this case, was arrested and incarcerated on another murder in Colorado and died in the custody of the Colorado Bureau of Prisons in November of 2020. On 05/03/2024, this case was reviewed and several re-interviews of witnesses were conducted which led to new evidence confirming the suspect was the individual who murdered Williams. Due to the suspect being deceased and no prosecution can be obtained, this case is now closed.
