Melvin Lee KENNON, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on January 6, 2026, in Seguin, Texas. Working off investigative information, Texas DPS Special Agents coordinated with THP Troopers to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by KENNON. Following the traffic stop, KENNON was taken into custody without incident.In 2007, KENNON was convicted of Sexual Assault of a Child following an incident with a 15-year-old girl and subsequently sentenced to 6 years confinement. He was discharged from Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) in 2012. KENNON had been wanted since September 2025, when a warrant was issued for his arrest out of Wilson County for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.KENNON’s arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
