Sean Alan SMITH, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on November 9, 2023, in Beaumont, Texas. Working off investigative information, DPS Special Agents located and arrested SMITH at a residence.In 2013, SMITH was convicted of Burglary of a Habitation and subsequently sentenced to four years’ confinement in TDCJ prison. In 2016, he was convicted of Sexual Assault of a Child following an incident involving a 15-year-old girl. He subsequently received 10 years’ probation. His probation was later revoked and he was sentenced in 2017 to three years’ confinement in TDCJ prison.SMITH had been wanted since December 2022, when a warrant was issued out of Nueces County for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.SMITH’s capture was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
