Ronnie Matthew VELARDE, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and documented West Texas Tango gang member, was captured on August 18, 2026, in Midland, Texas. Working off tip information, members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, including Texas DPS Special Agents, Midland PD Officers, and Midland Co SO Deputies, located and arrested VELARDE at a residence. The Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) – Permian Basin Center assisted in the investigation. VELARDE has an extensive criminal history out of the Midland area dating back to 2008, consisting of convictions for Burglary of a Habitation, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Evading Arrest/Detention, Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. VELARDE has served time in Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) prison multiple times and was last released on parole in April 2025.VELARDE had been wanted since May 2026, after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for his arrest for Parole Violation (Original Offenses: Burglary of Habitation, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity).VELARDE's arrest was from tip information acted upon by Midland Crime Stoppers, so a reward will be paid.
