Gary Lynn WHIDDON, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on September 13, 2019, in Denver, Colorado.Working off tip information and with coordination from Texas DPS Special Agents, officers from the Denver Police Department apprehended WHIDDON at a location in Denver. In April 2011, WHIDDON was convicted in Andrews County of Possession of Child Pornography. He was subsequently sentenced to 75 years in TDCJ prison. WHIDDON was released on parole from TDCJ in December 2018 and is required to register as a sex offender for life.WHIDDON has also served time in the past in TDCJ prison for multiple burglary convictions.WHIDDON had been wanted since June 2019 after the Midland County Sheriff’s Office issued warrants for WHIDDON’s arrest for Criminal Solicitation of a Minor-Sexual Assault of a Child and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.In addition, WHIDDON was wanted for Parole Violation (Original Offenses: Possession of Child Pornography and Burglary of a Habitation).The arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward was paid.
