Terry O'Neil JOHNSON, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on April 27, 2026, in Mesquite, Texas. Working off investigative information, members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, including Texas DPS Special Agents, Mansfield Police Department, Grand Prairie Police Department, Mesquite Police Department, and TDCJ-Office of Inspector General (OIG), located and arrested JOHNSON at a residence.In 1982, JOHNSON was convicted in Galveston County of Aggravated Sexual Assault following an incident with a 14-year-old child and subsequently sentenced to 25 years confinement. He was released on parole in 1992. In 1993, JOHNSON was convicted in Harris County for two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child following an incidents with a 10-year-old child. He was subsequently sentenced to 15 years confinement. JOHNSON was discharged from TDCJ prison in 2019. In June 2022, he was convicted in Tarrant County of Assault Causes Bodily Injury to a Family Member.JOHNSON had been wanted out of Dallas County since February 2026 for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.JOHNSON's capture was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
