Joseph Darwin WATSON, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on August 18, 2021, in Stephenville, Texas. Working off investigative information, officers with the Stephenville Police Department located and arrested WATSON at an apartment complex in Stephenville. WATSON is a high-risk sex offender required to register every three months for life. In 1994, WATSON was convicted in Llano County of two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault after he sexually assaulted a 5-year-old boy. In 2000, WATSON was convicted in Hamilton County of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. He was discharged from TDCJ prison in 2005.In 2009, WATSON was convicted of Sexual Assault in Milam County after sexually assaulting a 47-year-old female. He subsequently received a 10-year sentence in a TDCJ prison. In 2018, WATSON was discharged from TDCJ prison again and registered as a sex offender in Hamilton, Texas.WATSON had been wanted since October 2020 after a warrant was issued for his arrest in Hamilton County for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.The arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
