Effective September 1, 2020, Senate Bill 616 of the 86th Texas Legislature transfers the Motorcycle & ATV Safety program from DPS to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).  DPS and TDLR are working together to ensure the program transfers as smoothly as possible for licensees and the public.  For more information, please see TDLR’s website at: https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/mot/mot.htm.

The Motorcycle/ATV Safety Unit is assigned to the Texas Department of Public Safety Education Training and Research Bureau and administers two statewide training programs, the Motorcycle Operator Training and Safety Program and the All-Terrain Vehicle Education and Certification Program.
