AUSTIN – Mark Anthony Ozuna, 45, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on July 25 in San Antonio. Ozuna, a high-risk sex offender, was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. The arrest was not the result of a Crime Stoppers tip; therefore, no reward will be paid.
Working off investigative information, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents, located and apprehended Ozuna at an apartment complex in northwest San Antonio.
Ozuna had been wanted since January after he absconded from his last known address in San Antonio. Ozuna has past convictions in Bexar County of indecency with a child by exposure and burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a sex offense. For more information, see his captured bulletin.
So far in 2019, DPS and other agencies have arrested 16 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders, including eight sex offenders and six gang members, and $25,000 in rewards has been paid for tips that resulted in arrests.
Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.
To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters MUST provide information to authorities using one of the three following methods:
All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted – and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists – with photos – on the DPS website.
Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.
