December 2015 Severe Weather in Texas

How do I request assistance?
Governor Greg Abbott requested a Presidential Disaster Declaration for areas of Texas affected by severe weather from December 26-27, 2015. On February 9, 2016, the President granted this request for funds to assist in recovery.

Public Assistance Is Available For 51 Counties
Public Assistance is aid to state or local governments to pay part of the costs of rebuilding a community's damaged infrastructure, which may include debris removal, emergency protective measures and public services, repair of damaged public property, loans needed by communities for essential government functions and grants for public schools.

Public assistance (PA) is available for the following counties:
