Inspection Items for the Annual Inspection

Inspection Criteria

As of 1 January 2025, Texas no longer requires a safety inspection on non-commercial vehicles. Vehicles that still reside in an emissions county are required to have an annual emissions inspection. All commercial vehicles are required to have a commercial inspection and, if needed, an emissions inspection.
