Due to the cancellation of the E-2017 Recruit School, the application process for the A-2018 is being closed early. Candidates from the E-2017 Recruit School will be transferred to the A-2018 Recruit School. Candidates currently in the A-2018 Recruit School process will still be considered for the school.

   Important Application Instructions for Peace Officer Class

Applicants who will complete 24 months of continuous law enforcement or Federal Officer/Agent service by April 1, 2017 may apply, but must submit a letter from their agency verifying their start date of employment as a commissioned officer.

Military police with active duty service for 2 continuous years following completion of an approved basic military police course within the 4 years prior to applying, and have a MOS or AFC classification for military police may apply.

Important: Out of state and federal officers must first submit their application to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, complete the Texas Supplemental Peace Officer course (1018), and pass the state licensing examination prior to continuing on to the polygraph phase of the application process. Applicants may submit their on-line application and complete the physical fitness and written test. For more information go to: Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and click on "Licensing and Certification", then select "Out of State Peace Officers".
