CAPTURE DETAILS:

Reginald Vernard CAMPBELL, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, was taken into custody on October 13, 2017, in Mt. Vernon, New York. Working off tip information, members of the U.S. Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force coordinated with the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, to locate and apprehend CAMPBELL. Sherman PD, Texas Rangers, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms also assisted in the investigation.On August 11, 2017, CAMPBELL was allegedly involved in a robbery at the Quality Suites hotel in Sherman, Texas, that resulted in the hotel’s front desk clerk being fatally shot. An investigation led authorities to arrest two female accomplices and identify CAMPBELL as the masked suspect in the robbery and murder.On August 18, 2017, a federal warrant was issued for CAMPBELL’s arrest for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution. On August 23, 2017, authorities encountered CAMPBELL near Columbia, South Carolina; however, CAMPBELL resisted and assaulted the officers, which resulted in him escaping. On September 6, 2017, a Capital Murder warrant for CAMPBELL's arrest was issued.The arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward will be paid.
