State Provides Support to City of Corpus Christi Response To Water Contamination Incident

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety's (DPS) State Operations Center (SOC) in Austin has elevated its activation level – to Level III – in support of the City of Corpus Christi's response to a water contamination incident affecting the city's water supply.

The DPS Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) is working with the Texas Emergency Management Council (TEMC), which includes fellow state agencies, volunteer organizations and the private sector, to respond to this incident. The TEMC is helping to coordinate the shipments of drinking water to the City of Corpus Christi and is also supporting the efforts to place the water distribution pods in the impacted areas at the request of the City of Corpus Christi.

The following TEMC entities have deployed representatives to the SOC in Austin:

Additionally, DPS Texas Highway Patrol personnel, TDEM field staff and TCEQ personnel have deployed to the City of Corpus Christi Emergency Operations Center.
