Details: On May 1st 2006, the body of Joseph Douglas, 21, was found in a rural field in Rusk County.  Douglas was the victim of a gunshot wound to the head.  In 2017 this case was adopted into the Texas Ranger Unsolved Crime Investigation Program.  Working with the local agency, witnesses and potential suspects were re–interviewed.  Ultimately Jarret Murray, a former roommate of the victim was arrested and indicted for this murder.
