CAPTURE DETAILS: Charles Leon CARR, added to the Texas Ten Most Wanted Sex Offenders Program in December 2012, was deported to the United States after being captured in Vera Cruz, Mexico. The US Marshal Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force coordinated efforts with US Marshals Service – Mexico City and the Instituto Nacional de Migracion (Mexico’s Immigration Service) to capture CARR.

CARR is a high-risk sex offender who was required to register annually. In 1975, he was sentenced to 99 years in prison for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old female at a park in Abilene, Texas.

Charles CARR absconded in 2009 when he left a federal building without permission after failing a urine test. He was wanted by the US Marshal Service for a Probation Violation (Original Offense: Transportation of Aliens) and by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles for a Parole Violation (Original Offense: Sexual Assault).

The arrest was the result of a tip, and a reward up to $3,000 will be paid.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the following methods:
• Call the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) • Text the letters "DPS"- followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) • Submit a web tip through the Texas 10 Most Wanted website or Facebook page • Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App
All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
Callers’ anonymity is guaranteed by law and you could earn up to the CASH REWARD amount listed for each fugitive.
These fugitives should be considered Armed and Dangerous! Never try to apprehend a fugitive yourself.
