Jerry Wayne ADAWAY, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was taken into custody on August 9, 2016, by Houston Metro PD, at a location on the southwest side of Houston, TX. Houston Metro PD made the arrest working off information received from the Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Texas DPS Intelligence & Counterterrorism Division (ICT).
ADAWAY is a violent sex offender required to register every three months for life. He has a history of arrests for sexual offenses, robbery, drugs, and fraud.
In 1982, ADAWAY was convicted in Harris County of Rape for an incident involving a 16-year-old female. He allegedly threatened the victim with a knife. In 2007, he was convicted in Travis County of Sexual Assault of a Child for an incident involving another 16-year-old female. He subsequently was sentenced to five years in TDCJ prison.
ADAWAY had been wanted since April 2015, out of Harris County for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
The arrest was not the result of tip information received, so no reward will be paid.
