Jesse CRUZ Jr. was taken into custody without incident on August 27, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas. Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division (CID), San Antonio Police Department, and Bexar County Sheriff's Office all assisted in the apprehension.

In 1988, CRUZ was convicted of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Non-Family). In 1991, he was convicted of Burglary of a Building. In July 1993, he was convicted of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact after an incident in Bexar County involving a 12-year-old female. He subsequently was sentenced to 12 years in TDCJ prison.

On September 6, 2012, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for CRUZ's arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.

The arrest was the result of tip information received and a reward will be paid.
