Michael Dwayne COX, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was taken into custody without incident on July 20, 2015, at a residence in Houston, Texas, by the Office of the Texas Attorney General, Fugitive Apprehension Unit.

In 1994, COX was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child after an incident in Dallas County involving a 9-year-old female. He subsequently was sentenced to 10 years in TDCJ prison. In 2004, COX was convicted in Harris County for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On September 24, 2013, the Polk County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for COX's arrest for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

The arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward will be paid.
