On January 23, 2015, Paul Ray BASS, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in Houston, Texas. DPS Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the U.S. Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Apprehension Task Force assisted with the investigation.

BASS is a violent, high-risk sex offender with ties to Houston, Texas, and Cherokee County in East Texas. In 1996, BASS was convicted of Indecency with a Child by Exposure after an incident in Harris County involving a 14-year-old female. He was sentenced to 3 years in TDCJ prison.

BASS was wanted in Cherokee County for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. The arrest was not the result of tip information received, so no reward will be paid.
