Texas LESO Training Information

Quarterly training sessions are conducted in Austin (location to be determined). The one day class is free to attend but is mandatory for all new participants prior to any requests for property being approved. Attendees MUST stay for the entire class (including the afternoon session) in order to meet the mandatory requirement for participation in the Texas LESO program and you will receive TCOLE credit for attending. The following information will be covered in each training session.

  1. Requisition process & property available to Texas LESO participants
  2. File management & property accountability
  3. Weapons policies & procedures
  4. Armored Vehicle policies & procedures
  5. Aircraft policies & procedures
  6. State Plan of Operation explanation
  7. Live website training to include:
    1. Requesting property
    2. Inventory management

If you wish to register for one of our training sessions, please submit your request to attend to txlesoprogram@dps.texas.gov. Please include your name, title, agency, contact number and email. A confirmation email will be sent to you along with location, class agenda, map of the facility and available hotel accommodations. It is highly recommended that your agency is approved for participation and has all web accounts set up prior to attending class. Since class is mandatory, it fills up quickly; therefore we ask that you be considerate of those who have already been approved for participation.
